Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). Dissemination of public information carried out by the Department of Communication, Informatics, Statistics and Encoding, South Halmahera Regency (Diskominfo) through a Facebook account. South Halmahera Regent Regulation (PERBUP) Number 18 of 2017 concerning the use of information and communication technology in e-government development. This is one form of information service carried out by Diskominfo through social media, namely Facebook. The people of South Halmahera Regency are almost on average using Facebook.Purpose to analyze the Effectiveness of the Use of Facebook Applications in improving public information services, describe the obstacles and efforts of the South Halmahera District Communication and Information Office in improving public information services.Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result The productivity of the DISKOMINFO-SP Facebook page of South Halmahera Regency seen from the number of posts made during December 2021 was 119 posts. The efficiency of every 119 posts made on the DISKOMINFO-SP Facebook page of South Halmahera Regency during December 2021 was divided into two aspects, namely the reach posts and interactions within posts. The level of satisfaction with the DISKOMINFO-SP facebook page of South Halmahera Regency in this study was obtained from 25 people who were used as informants to provide their assessments.Conclusion: tidak terdapat hambatan berarti dalam pelaksanaan dan operasional dari halaman facebook tersebut. Namun hambatan serta kendala seperti angka jangkauan per postingan sebesar ataupun interaksi per postingan masih menjadi tugas dan evaluasi untuk diperbaiki dan dimaksimalkan lagi. Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan yaitu pelatihan pengelola facebook (admin), pemberian pembekalan tentang penulisan berita atau postingan, penyiapan dan pengadaan sarana prasarana penunjang operasional yang berkaitan dengan halaman facebook, pembiayaan biaya layanan internet dan bidang teknologi.
