Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research) Community empowerment is important in the realization of general welfare. Community empowerment has the aim of building people's awareness and willingness to improve their own welfare. The study aims to determine the impact of laying hens in improving the welfare of the Polosiri Village community as well as the problem of poverty which is marked by the high unemployment rate that occurs in Polosiri Village. This study also describes the steps and efforts taken in overcoming obstacles in empowering laying hens.Purpose To describe the independent business empowerment of laying hens in Polosiri Village, Bawen District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province in improving the economy.Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result In general, community empowerment in Polosiri Village in Independent Business of laying hens has been carried out well in accordance with the empowerment theory put forward by Mardikanto which states that "empowerment has four main points of empowerment, namely Human Development, Business Development, Environmental Development, and Institutional Development". Efforts to empower the community in laying hens are carried out with four developments, namely: Human Development in Polosiri Village, Bawen District, seeks to improve human resources through counseling, mentoring, socialization, seminars, and coaching to laying hens cultivators consistently;.Conclusion: the implementation of laying hens has a good impact on improving the welfare of the Polosiri Village community by providing counseling to the community so that it is more optimal in obtaining egg harvests. However , the obstacles and problems that occur related to the implementation of the empowerment of laying hens have made this program not run optimally in accordance with the objectives . Suggestions related to this research are expected that the government of Polosiri Village, Bawen District, Semarang Regency pays attention to the implementation of empowering laying hens so that implementation of new innovations, proposes regular assistance to laying hens, and cooperates with foreign investors in selling laying hens harvests so as to improve welfare. and tackling the problem of poverty faced by the community in Polosiri Village, Bawen District, Semarang Regency.
