Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). A tourist village is a form of integration between attractions, accommodation and supporting facilities that are presented in a structure of community life that is integrated with applicable procedures and traditions. Tourism village has now become a program of the East Belitung Regency Government aimed at overcoming the problems of poverty and unemployment experienced by rural communities by developing the potential and uniqueness of each village in the East Belitung Regency area and in its implementation involves the participation and ability of local communities. Purpose: Describes the development of the tourism village program as a form of empowering the poor in Lalang Village, Manggar District, East Belitung Regency.Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation.. Result: Community Empowerment through the Tourism Village Program in Lalang Village, Manggar District has been implemented well. Based on the results of observations, interviews and documentation in the field, there has been attention from the Lalang Village Government towards the independence of the village community through the Tourism Village program by presenting the required facilities and infrastructure and human resource development carried out by the Lalang Village Government has been carried out.Conclusion: The implementation of community empowerment through the Tourism Village Program in Lalang Village, Manggar District has been implemented and the theme taken is Cultural Village. The theme was determined after reviewing the past culture that existed in Lalang Village. The implementation of community empowerment through the Tourism Village Program is considered successful because it supports the economy of the surrounding community and in terms of tourism considering its uniqueness as an attraction Keywords: Community Empowerment, Tourism Village, Lalang Village
