Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). The holding of elections is very important for the Indonesian state, this is because elections are a means of realizing people's sovereignty. This is the first time that elections have been held in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, therefore the system and the implementation of this year's elections are a major concern because they were carried out in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Objective : to find out and analyze the strategy of the General Elections Commission in conducting elections in the midst of a pandemic, factors that become obstacles and factors that support the implementation of general elections in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result The role of the General Elections Commission in carrying out elections in the midst of a pandemic went smoothly and in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations, it's just that there are some things that are difficult to do because of restrictions during the pandemic that must pay attention to health protocols, but in its implementation it can be overcome . Conclusion: From the general election in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been carried out well in terms of public participation, although there are still some obstacles such as difficulties in finding election organizers, as well as in terms of transportation to remote areas. The General Election Commission of Majene Regency can overcome all existing obstacles. Based on the results of the analysis, the authors suggest to the organizers of the general election in the future to be able to provide innovations to attract public interest to participate in the implementation of general elections, and maintain public trust by holding JUBERDIL general elections.
