Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research) The simultaneous regional elections in 2020 which will be held in Boven Digoel Regency are very complex, seen in the process of determining the pair of candidates that gave rise to regional election disputes. Differences in the interpretation of the pause period by the Pilkada organizers in the process of determining the pairs of candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent in Boven Digoel Regency were the reason for the postponement of the Pilkada in Boven Digoel Regency and in the end a re-voting was held. Objective: to evaluate the implementation of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections in Boven Digoel Regency. Objective to evaluate the implementation of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections in Boven Digoel Regency Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: In the process of determining the pair of candidates in Boven Digoel Regency, it has not been in accordance with General Election Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2020 due to the partiality of the election organizers on the prospective election participants. In the process of determining candidates in the simultaneous regional elections in Boven Digoel Regency in 2020, there was a violation of the code of ethics by the organizers with the partiality by the election organizers to the prospective election participants.Conclusion: the organizers have not been able to interpret the existing regulations and decisions related to the pilkada, there are still elements of the pilkada organizers who do not have a neutral attitude towards the prospective pairs of candidates so that the existing decisions are not as they should be.
