Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The author focused on the problem about real effect of the development of the world of information and technology and communication,The uses of this technology has reached all human life,the use of this technology has reached all human life.the use of the website as a source of public information is one of the many uses of information technology which in its implementation has not received good attention by the government in this regard,Diskominfo. Purpose: This study aims to Optimizing the use of the kominfo.jayapurakota.go.id website as a source of public information in Jayapura City. Method: The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with an inductive approach. Data collected through documentation, observation, and interviews. Then the data analysis is done through data reduction, data presentation dan conclusions distribution.Result: Based on the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of the use of the kominfo website, jayapurakota.go.id as a source of public information in Jayapura City had not run optimally. Conclusion: The influencing factors are the not yet maximized facilities and infrastructure used by the Information and Communication Technology Office for website use, the lack of socialization carried out by the Jayapura City Discominfo, and the lack of quality and quantity of human resources which makes the provision of website-based public information not optimal.
