Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research disaster risk as a disaster to be more alert in detecting both natural and non-natural disasters so that the potential to avoid is greater and many residents are saved. Mitigation of Forest Fire Disasters in Tanah Laut Regency as an effort to prevent potential natural disasters, namely forest fires.objective : To find out and analyze the role of BPBD in mitigating forest and land fire disasters in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: The availability of human resources will continue to be improved in accordance with the competencies required to program and supervise as a form of rights and obligations to detect forest fires early and reduce losses both materially and financially to the people of Tanah Laut Regency by BPBD.Conclusion: The role of BPBD in forest and land fire disaster mitigation in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, for employees holding structural positions, it is sufficient to understand what their main duties and functions are in carrying out their roles as part of BPBD Tanah Laut Regency but need to provide skilled human resources. and competent in disaster mitigation.
