Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). Landslide is one of the natural disasters that often hit the wet tropics. The factors that cause landslides are steep geographical conditions, high rainfall and lack of environmental conservation.Objective: to see the optimization of the efforts of the Regional Disaster Management Agency of West Bandung Regency in reducing the risk of landslides.Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: the geographical condition of West Bandung Regency which has many slopes and hills and the lack of information about landslide-prone points of an area. A village (disaster-resilient village) was created to anticipate landslide-prone areas. With many efforts, it is possible to reduce the impact of disasters and also minimize victims due to natural disasters. It is hoped that the optimization of BPBD in the preparedness stage is expected to be able to increase community members to always be active in obtaining information about natural disasters and identify their respective areas of residence, so that the worst possibility can be estimated and what must be done for it..Conclusion: The Regional Disaster Management Agency has carried out its duties and responsibilities in natural disaster management, especially in anticipation (mitigation) optimally. In carrying out its duties as the Regional Disaster Management Agency, there are several factors that become obstacles in the implementation of natural disaster management in Bandung Barat City, namely: in the Disaster Management Sector and in the Regional Disaster Management Logistics Sector, carrying out solutions for handling problems that occur and as an effort to create a sustainable West Bandung Regency. and free from natural disasters through policies that have been implemented, namely conducting socialization on disaster mitigation, making collaborations with outside parties or other agencies for smooth coordination, Keywords: landslides , BPBD , disaster risk reduction
