Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): The prevalence rate of stunting in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province, is still relatively high even though various policies have been implemented. This problem is multidimensional, influenced by low public awareness, early marriage culture, and limited infrastructure and basic services. Local government efforts to reduce stunting face various obstacles in their implementation. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the implementation of local government policies in reducing stunting rates in Mamuju Regency. Method: This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using Muchlis Hamdi's policy implementation theory with indicators of productivity, linearity, and efficiency. Results: The implementation of stunting reduction policies has been carried out through specific and sensitive interventions convergently across sectors. Supporting factors include political commitment, supportive regulations, and the existence of active networks. However, obstacles were found in the form of low community participation, limited human resources and technology, and weak coordination between sectors. The local government responded to this challenge by strengthening the capacity of cadres, optimizing monitoring technology, and cross-sector advocacy. Conclusion: The implementation of stunting reduction policies in Mamuju Regency has been carried out in accordance with national guidelines that are aligned with local conditions, but still needs strengthening in multi-actor synergy, community education, and development of supporting infrastructure to accelerate stunting reduction in a sustainable manner. Keywords: Policy Implementation, Stunting, Local Government, Mamuju Regency
