Abstract
Problem Statement: The author focuses on the problem of relatively low participation of millennial farmers in the Rice Farming Business Insurance Program (AUTP) in Bondowoso Regency, despite the program's implementation since 2015 to reduce crop failure risks. Purpose: This study aims to know millennial farmers' attitudes towards AUTP in Bondowoso Regency. Method: This study uses a mixed method sequential explanatory approach. The technique of collecting data was done by survey (questionnaire filling with 100 respondents) and in-depth interviews (9 informants). Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Rank-Spearman correlation, and Mann-Whitney t-test through IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Qualitative data were analyzed by triangulation. Result: The findings are that personal experience (ρ = 0.008) and non-formal education (ρ = 0.002) have a significant relationship with farmers' attitude, while formal education (ρ = 0.084) is not significant. As many as 57% of the farmers are neutral towards AUTP, 38% agree, and 5% disagree. Conclusion: This finding shows that despite the significant relationship between experience and non-formal education, the socialization and subsidy from DPKP Bondowoso have not been optimal in encouraging millennial farmers' participation in the AUTP program.
