Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem (Gap): increasing the number of first-time voters in 2024 could be a challenge or opportunity for every political actor contesting in the democratic party. However, what is more important than all of that is how to ensure that the election process can run smoothly. Even though there is a significant increase in first-time voters, this can be overcome to support the electoral process. One way that can be done to overcome this is through political education, namely providing understanding to the public about the importance of democracy and political participation. Purpose: To find out about Bakesbangpoldagri's political outreach for novice voters in East Lombok Regency. Methods: this research is qualitative research using descriptive methods and data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation and documentation obtained from primary and secondary data sources. Results/ findings: political socialization carried out by Bakesbangpoldagri can be said to be quite successful. This is in line with what was said by the Chairman of the NTB General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Itratip, S.T., M.T., where he said that Millennials and Gen Z dominate the general election in the 2024 elections, even in the regional elections which will take place in November 2024. He further said that almost 60% of voters in the elections on February 14 2024 were Millennials and Gen Z. Conclusion: Looking at the participation of first-time voters in East Lombok Regency and what was conveyed by informants, it seems that this socialization activity went smoothly. Even though there were several obstacles, they did not really affect the course of socialization. In other words, socialization can run smoothly and the material to be conveyed can be conveyed well to the target participants. Keywords: Political Socialization, New Voters, General Election ABSTRAK Permasalahan (Gap): fenomena peningkatan jumlah pemilih pemula pada tahun 2024 bisa saja menjadi tantangan ataupun peluang bagi tiap aktor politik yang berkontestasi dalam pesta demokrasi. Namun hal yang lebih penting dari itu semua adalah bagaimana caranya agar proses pemilu dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Meskipun ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari pemilih pemula itu dapat teratasi untuk mendukung jalannya proses pemilu. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan pendidikan politik, yaitu memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya demokrasi dan partisipasi politik. Tujuan: mengetahui sosialisasi politik Bakesbangpoldagri bagi pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Metode: penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualtitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang di dapat dari sumber data primer dan sekunder. Hasil/ temuan: sosialisasi politik yang dilakukan oleh Bakesbangpoldagri dapat dikatakan cukup berhasil. Hal ini sejalan dengan apa yang dikatakan oleh Ketua Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum (Bawaslu) NTB, Itratip, S.T., M.T., dimana ia menyebut bahwa Milenial dan Gen Z mendominasi pemilihan umum pada pemilu 2024, bahkan pada pilkada yang akan berlangsung pada bulan November 2024 nanti. Selanjutnya ia mengatakan bahwa hampir 60% pemilih dalam pemilu pada 14 Februari 2024 lalu merupakan generasi Milenial dan Gen Z. Kesimpulan: Melihat bagaimana partisipasi pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Lombok Timur dan apa yang disampaikan oleh Informan, nampaknya kegiatan sosialiasi ini berjalan dengan lancar. Meskipun ada beberapa kendala, namun tidak terlalu mempengaruhi jalannya sosialisasi. Dengan kata lain sosialisasi dapat berjalan lancar dan materi yang ingin disampaikan dapat tersampaikan dengan baik pada para peserta yang menjadi sasaran.
