Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): The development of Penyengat Island by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Tanjungpinang City has not been optimal due to the incomplete infrastructure of facilities which is also the reason why the development of Penyengat Island as a leading tourist attraction in Tanjungpinang City has not been successful, such as the very lack of facilities such as toilets and other others as well as a lack of public awareness of the Penyengat Island tourist attraction. Purpose: The research was conducted to determine and analyze the Tourism Development of Penyengat Island by the Culture and Tourism Office of Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province. Method: This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with semi-structured interview techniques, participatory observation & deductive theorization approaches, and documentation to obtain an overview and description of the processes of social phenomena and interactions that are formed within the scope of the research. Results/Findings: Research results show that Penyengat Island has high internal conditions in developing culture-based tourism, but has not yet achieved optimal goals and there are factors that are obstacles in developing this tourism and this research formulates several efforts that can be carried out by the Tanjungpinang City Government in developing the Penyengat Island tourist destination. Conclusion: The development of the Penyengat Island tourist attraction needs support and still needs attention from the Tanjungpinang City Culture and Tourism Office and local communities around the Penyengat Island tourist attraction Keyword: Development, Tourism, Penyengat Island ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Pengembangan Pulau Penyengat oleh Dinas Kebudayaan dan Parisiwata Kota Tanjungpinang belum maksimal dikarenakan infrastruktur fasilitas yang belum lengkap juga menjadi penyebab belum berhasilnya pengembangan Pulau Penyengat sebagai obyek wisata unggulan di Kota Tanjungpinang, seperti sangat minimnya fasilitas seperti Toilet dan yang lainnya serta kuranganya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap objek wisata Pulau Penyengat. Tujuan: Penelitian diadakan guna mengetahui dan menganalisis Pengembangan Pariwisata Pulau Penyengat oleh Dinas Kebudayaan Dan Pariwisata Kota Tanjungpinang Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik Wawancara Semistruktur, Observasi partisipatif & pendekatan teorisasi deduktif, dan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh gambaran serta uraian proses fenomena sosial maupun interaksi yang terbentuk dalam lingkup penelitian. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil Penelitian diperoleh bahwa Pulau Penyengat memiliki kondisi internal yang tinggi dalam pengembangan pariwisata berbasis budaya, namun belum mencapai tujuan yang optimal dan ada faktor yang menjadi penghambat dalam pengembangan pariwisata ini serta Penelitian ini merumuskan beberapa upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Kota Tanjungpinang dalam pengembangan destinasi wisata Pulau Penyengat. Kesimpulan: Pengembangan Objek wisata Pulau Penyengat perlu dukangan dan masih perlu perhatain oleh Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kota Tanjungpinang serta masyarakat lokat di sekitaran objek wisata Pulau Penyengat.
