Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Jambi City as the capital city of Jambi Province is increasingly experiencing an increase in population density and also motorized vehicles. This can result in urban problems such as congestion. One solution to overcome this is the presence of public transportation. The author focuses on the implementation of an integrated public transportation system based on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Jambi City, Jambi Province. Purpose:. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation of an integrated public transportation system based on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Jambi City, Jambi Province, find out and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors, and analyze efforts to optimize the implementation of public transportation in Jambi City. Method: This research uses exploratory qualitative methods and analysis of policy implementation according to Van Meter and Van Horn. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, semistructured interviews, and documentation. Result: The Bus Rapid Transit-based public transportation system in Jambi City has formed a connection between systems in the macro transportation system. The connection created is like connecting transportation nodes in Jambi City through Bus Rapid Transit. Conclusion: Implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)-based Integrated Public Transportation System in Jambi City has been running but not optimal. In the dimensions of policy standards and objectives, implementing activities and interorganizational communication, and implementor disposition are good even though they are still constrained by policy resources, implementing characteristics, and the social, economic and political environment. Keywords: Policy Implementation, Integrated Transportation, BRT
