Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem (GAP): This research explains the development of rice field tourism objects. The issues raised in this research are the decline in tourist visitors, the lack of facility updates, the decreasing quality of infrastructure, and suboptimal accessibility. Objective: The purpose of this research is to identify the obstacles and efforts in the development of rice field tourism objects. Method: In this research activity, the researcher implements a descriptive qualitative research method using an inductive approach and applies Spillane's tourism development theory. The sources of information used in this research include data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques employed follow Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, which involve data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Results/Findings: The research results describe that the development of rice field tourism objects in Pematang Johar Village has been maximally implemented but still faces several obstacles and deficiencies, such as the absence of an office to provide information related to the tourist attraction, the lack of available transportation services that can be used by the general public, and facilities and infrastructure that have not been properly maintained. Conclusion: Attention from the local government and the departments of culture, youth and sports, and tourism is still needed to implement strategies for developing rice field tourism objects. They need to carry out maintenance and repair of damaged facilities and infrastructure to help enhance the rice field tourism object so that it can become a leading tourist attraction in the Deli Serdang Regency area. Keywords: Performance, Women Farming Groups, Family Economy ABSTRAK Permasalahan (GAP): Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang pengembangan objek wisata sawah. Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya penurunan pengunjung wisatawan, pembaruan fasilitas tidak dilaksanakan, kualitas sarana dan prasarana menurun serta aksesibilitas yang belum optimal. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hambatan serta upaya dalam pengembangan objek wisata sawah. Metode: Pada aktivitas penelitian ini peneliti mengimplementasikan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan induktif dan mengimplementasikan teori pengembangan pariwisata berdasarkan Spillane. Sumber informasi yang diimplementasikan oleh peneliti pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi, sedangkan teknik untuk melakukan analisis data yang dimanfaatkan sesuai dengan teknik analisis data Miles dan Huberman yakni dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penelitian mendeskripsikan jika pengembangan objek wisata sawah yang ada di Desa Pematang Johar sudah terlaksana dengan maksimal tetapi masih terdapat beberapa hambatan serta kekurangan contohnya yaitu tidak tersedianya kantor untuk menyampaikan informasi berkaitan dengan objek wisata, belum tersedianya pelayanan transportasi yang dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat umum, serta sarana dan prasarana maupun infrastruktur yang belum dapat dipelihara dengan baik. Kesimpulan: Masih diperlukannya perhatian dari pihak pemerintah daerah serta dinas kebudayaan, pemuda dan olahraga serta pariwisata yang diharuskan untuk melakukan strategi pengembangan objek wisata sawah, melakukan perawatan hingga perbaikan sarana serta prasarana yang rusak agar bisa membantu peningkatan objek wisata sawah agar menjadi objek wisata yang unggul di wilayah Kabupaten Deli Serdang.
