Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Political awareness which is influenced by political education is one of the factors that influences the level of political participation. However, there are still many Indonesian citizens who don’t have political awareness, this is proven by the number of PVL (Permanent Voter List) of 41.67% who didn’t use their right to vote in the 2020 Makassar Mayor and Deputy Mayor Election. The population of Makassar City is dominated by the Generation Z becomes a challenge in itself if it is not directed properly, so it is necessary to know how much influence political education has on the political participation of Generation Z in Makassar City. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the influence of political education on the level of political participation of Gen Z in the 2020 General Election in Makassar City. Method: The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a simple random sampling method for sampling and a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. Data collection was carried out by distributing online questionnaires via Google Form which had been empirically validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis techniques use descriptive and inferential analysis. In hypothesis testing, simple correlation tests and simple linear regression tests are used. Results/Findings:The research results showed that there was a positive influence between political education on the political participation of Generation Z in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, which was known through the results of the t test which showed a calculated t value of 8.756 greater than the table t value which was 1.987. Then, based on the results of the coefficient of determination test, it was found that there was a variable contribution of political education of 43.9% to the political participation of Gen Z. Conclusion: There is an influence of political education on the political participation of Gen Z by 43,9% and 56,1% influences by other factors that were not examined in this study. Keywords: Education, Generation Z, Participation, Politics ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Kesadaran politik yang dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan politik menjadi salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat partisipasi politik. Namun, masih banyak warga Indonesia yang belum memiliki kesadaran politik hal ini dibuktikan dengan jumlah DPT (Daftar Pemillih Tetap) sebesar 41,67% yang tidak menggunakan hak pilihnya pada Pemilihan Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Makassar Tahun 2020. Jumlah penduduk Kota Makassar yang didominasi oleh Generasi Z menjadi tantangan tersendiri apabila tidak diarahkan dengan baik sehingga perlu untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pendidikan politik terhadap partisipasi politik Generasi Z di Kota Makassar. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan politik terhadap tingkat partisipasi politik Gen Z pada Pemilu tahun 2020 di Kota Makassar. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan metode simple random sampling untuk pengambilan sampel dan diperoleh sampel sebesar 100 orang responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner online melalui google form yang telah divalidasi secara empiris dan diuji reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Dalam pengujian hipotesis digunakan uji korelasi sederhana dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara pendidikan politk terhadap partisipasi politik Generasi Z di Kota Makassar Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan yang diketahui melalui hasil uji t yang menunjukkan nilai t hitung 8,756 lebih besar dari nilai t tabel yang mana sebesar 1,987. Kemudian berdasarkan hasil uji koefisien determinasi ditemukan bahwa terdapat kontribusi variabel pendidikan politik sebesar 43,9% terhadap partisipasi politik Gen Z. Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh pendidikan politik terhadap partisipasi politik Gen Z sebesar 43,9% dan 56,1% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak di teliti dalam penelitian ini Kata Kunci : Generasi Z, Partisipasi, Pendidikan, Politik
