Abstract

ABSTRACT The awareness of the importance of improving public services encourages local governments to make new innovations in providing the best services to the community. One of the innovations made by the government is the establishment of public service malls. The aim is to change the convoluted service system to be easier and not the people who serve themselves but government employees who move to serve the community. In this regard, the researcher conducted a study with the title "PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES IN DEVELOPING PUBLIC SERVICE INNOVATIONS IN THE PAREPARE CITY SERVICE MAL". The focus of this study is to determine the performance of employees in realizing public service innovation, to find out the obstacles that occur in the implementation of public services and the efforts made to overcome obstacles to employee performance in carrying out public services. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Researchers describe the object under study through informant data as it is and adjusted to the facts that occur at the research site. Then the existing data is connected with the theory used to gain understanding. The techniques used in data collection are interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results showed that employee performance in realizing public service innovation based on performance theory according to Simanjuntak in Widodo (2014: 133) which has dimensions of Employee Quality and Ability, Supporting Infrastructure Facilities, and Suprasarana, which are already running well, only need to be maintained and improved. Researchers suggest that the Parepare City Public Service Mall follow up on the Mayor's regulation regarding the MPP of Parepare City, provide an official website and socialize MPP to the public, improve the quality of human resource competencies, add employees in the IT field, foster employee awareness to always provide the best service and improve infrastructure in order to realize public service innovation.
