Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The research focuses on empowering the community through a program to increase the income of entrepreneurs in the rendang peanut business in Nagari Sundata, Lubuk Sikaping District, Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to understand and describe the empowerment of the community through a program to increase the income of entrepreneurs in the rendang peanut business in Nagari Sundata. The research aims to identify the obstacles in community empowerment and the efforts made by the Department of Cooperative, SMEs, Trade, and Labor of Pasaman Regency to overcome these obstacles. Method: The research methodology employed in this study is a qualitative descriptive research with an inductive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis in this study is based on the theory of Community Empowerment (Mardikanto and Soebiato, 2018), which identifies four dimensions of community empowerment: business development, human development, environmental development, and institutional development. Result: The empowerment of the community through the Income Enhancement Program for Kacang Rendang Entrepreneurs in Nagari Sundata has not been optimally implemented. Conclusion: The community empowerment through the Income Enhancement Program for Kacang Rendang Entrepreneurs in Nagari Sundata has not been optimally implemented. Several challenges have been identified, including the lack of knowledge and skills among the kacang rendang entrepreneurs, inadequate support in terms of infrastructure and facilities, and suboptimal promotional efforts. To address these challenges, efforts will be made to provide guidance and training to the kacang rendang entrepreneurs, improve access to financing and provide necessary infrastructure and facilities, and increase the involvement of the younger generation in managing social media accounts.
