Abstract
ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled "Application of the Concept of Sustainable Tourism in Padang Beach Tourism Objects by the Tourism and Culture Office of Padang City". The purpose of conducting this research is to describe the development of the Padang Beach tourist attraction carried out by the Padang City Tourism and Culture Office whether it has implemented the Sustainable Concept or not, to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors of the development of this tourist attraction, and the efforts made by the Regional Government through the Padang City Tourism and Culture.The method used is a descriptive qualitative method, using an inductive approach. Collecting data using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study are the application of the concept of sustainable tourism to Padang beach tourism objects carried out by the Padang City Tourism and Culture Office which has been carried out by covering three dimensions of sustainable aspects such as: environmental sustainability, sosial and cultural sustainability, and economic sustainability. Supporting factors are the potential for tourist objects in the form of facilities and infrastructure such as the construction of the IORA Monument, the Merpati Monument, the arrangement of Cimpago Long Lapau (LPC) and the Flat Tents for traders on the beach, sidewalks for pedestrians, gazebos, toilets, parking lots, places of worship and play ground. There is support from the local government for development by the Tourism Office in the form of mayoral regulation 253 concerning Padang Beach as a tourist area, and active participation from the local community and tourists in maintaining the sustainability of Padang Beach tourism. And there are inhibiting factors which include the need for improvement in terms of cleanliness of garbage, orderly access to roads by expanding parking lots, and repairing damaged facilities and infrastructure, as well as the need for increased promotion. The efforts of the tourism office in developing Padang beach tourism based on the concept of sustainable tourism continue to be intensified in collaboration with various parties, both the local community, Pokdarwis, Padang city agencies, and the TNI-POLRI. Keywords: Sustainable Tourism Concept, Padang Beach, Development ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “Penerapan Konsep Pariwisata Berkelanjutan Pada Objek Wisata Pantai Padang Oleh Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan di Kota Padang Provinsi Sumatera Barat”. Adapun tujuan dari pelaksanaan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan objek wisata Pantai Padang yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Padang apakah telah menerapikan Konsep Berkelanjutan atau belum, mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dari pengembangan objek wisata ini, dan upaya yang dilakukan Pemerintah Daerah melalui Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Padang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan menggunakan pendekatan induktif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yaitu penerapian konsep pariwisata berkelanjutan pada objek wisata pantai padang yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Padang sudah dilakukan dengan mencakup tiga dimensi aspek berkelanjutan seperti: Keberlanjutan lingkungan, Keberlanjutan Sosial dan budaya, dan Keberlanjutan Ekonomi.Faktor pendukung yaitu adanya potensi objek wisata berupa sarana dan prasarana seperti telah dibangunnya Monumen IORA, Monumen Tugu Merpati, Penataan Lapau Panjang Cimpago (LPC) dan Tenda Ceper pedagang di tepi pantai, Trotoar untuk pejalan kaki, gazebo, toilet, tempat parkir, tempat ibadah dan arena bermain. Adanya dukungan dari pemerintah daerah untuk dilakukan pengembangan oleh Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Padang berupa peraturan walikota 253 tentang Pantai Padang sebagai sebuah Kawasan wisata, dan partisipasi aktif dari masyarakat sekitar maupun wisatawan dalam menjaga keberlanjutan wisata Pantai Padang. Dan ada faktor penghambat yang meliputi perlunya Peningkatan dalam hal Kebersihan sampah, ketertiban akses jalan dengan memperluas tempat parkir, dan perbaikan fasilitas sarana dan prasarana yang rusak, serta perlunya peningkatan promosi. Upaya Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kota Padang dalam pengembangan wisata pantai padang berbasis konsep pariwisata berkelanjutkan terus digiatkan dengan Kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak baik masyarakat setempat, pokdarwis, Dinas-dinas dikota padang, dan TNI-POLRI.
