Abstract
Problem Statement/Background: Considering that the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands is the province with the largest pepper production on a national scale, it is important to increase the capacity of pepper farmers in this area. This research entitled "EMPOWERMENT OF THE PEPPER FARMERS THROUGH BUMDESMA MITRA LADA BERSATU IN AIRGEGAS DISTRICT, BANGKA SELATAN REGENCY, BANGKA BELITUNG ISLAND PROVINCE". Purpose: This study seeks to find out the implementation of community empowerment of pepper farmers through BUMDESMA Mitra Lada Bersatu in Airgegas District and the obstacles faced in its implementation. This study aims to find out how to empower the pepper farming community through BUMDESMA Mitra Lada Bersatu and to find out the obstacles in its implementation. Method: This type of research is a qualitative type with the research method is descriptive and inductive approach. The data sources used are person, place, and paper, while the data collection techniques are through library research and field studies in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation. This study were analyzed using reduction techniques, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Result: showed that the implementation of pepper farmer empowerment in BUMDESMA Mitra Lada Bersatu went quite well. Conclusions: Compliance with the implementation of 4 developments from Mardikanto which include Human Development, Business Development, Environmental Development, Institutional development is quite appropriate but still not optimal. This is because the implementation of empowerment is still experiencing various obstacles. The obstacles in this program are the busyness of the community, the allocation of funds and decreased selling market due to the impact of COVID-19. BUMDESMA Mitra Lada Bersatu continues to strive to improve and overcome all obstacles that hinder this empowerment program.
