Abstract
Problem Statment/Background (GAP): In this study, there is a problem related to low political participation or the number of unused votes or abstentions in the village head election in Mungguk Village is still high. Purpose: To determine community political participation as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in the election of village heads and to determine the committee's efforts to increase community political participation in village head elections in Mungguk Village. Method: The method used is a type of qualitative descriptive research with an inductive approach. This study uses the main theory of political participation Ramlan Surbakti. Results: This study shows that the community's political participation in the election of village heads in Mungguk Village is still low or has not gone well. Conclusion: Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the political participation of the community in the election of village heads in Mungguk Village is still low, which is caused by several factors such as the lack of public political awareness, low judgment of the government, and social and economic status which are inhibiting factors in participation. political affiliation, as for supporting factors such as parental political affiliation and organizational experience, providing space to the community and the activity of the village head election committee can increase community political participation in village head elections. Suggestions from researchers are that the village government should further increase public awareness by conducting socialization, and that the village government should pay more attention to the rights or desires of the village community.
