Abstract
The background of the author taking the title above is the uncontrolled spread and high positive number of COVID-19 in East Luwu Regency so that the participation of the Civil Service Police Unit is needed in handling this problem. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the role and efforts of the Civil Service Police Unit in enforcing health protocols during the COVID-19 emergency response period. Method: This study uses a qualitative research method using the role theory of Soekanto. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews (18 informants), observation, and documentation. Result: The findings obtained by the authors in this study are that the role of Satpol-PP in the COVID-19 emergency response period has been considered effective in several aspects, although there are still some obstacles such as lack of public awareness and lack of facilities and supporting budgets. Conclusion: The role of the Civil Service Police Unit in the COVID-19 emergency response period has gone well, this is due to good coordination and desire from the local government together with the community.
