Abstract
This study discusses the Strategy of the Pamong Praja Police Unit in Controlling Street Vendors in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan Province. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the internal and external factors that influence the strategy in controlling street vendors and to find out how strategies that can be carried out by the pamong praja police unit in controlling street vendors in Sintang Regency. Methods: The method used is descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach. In the data collection method, the researcher used interview and documentation techniques. Then the data analysis technique used by researchers is SWOT analysis by Rangkuti. Results: The results showed that there were internal factors such as controlling efforts in line to realize the vision and mission of Sintang Regency, commitment of all implementing agency personnel, clear organizational structure and work procedures, budget refocusing, inadequate infrastructure, inadequate personnel resources. And external factors, namely the support of the relevant OPD, there is a local regulation that regulates, there is an agreement between the local government and street vendors, there is no place for relocation of street vendors, no use of technology, low compliance of street vendors. Conclusion: Internal and external factors that exist in the Pamong Praja Police Unit in Controlling Street Vendors in Sintang Regency are used as an analysis to find the right strategy for controlling street vendors. The following are some alternative strategies that have been found, namely Increasing the making of a sustainable PKL control program by strengthening the support of the related OPD, Increasing the competence of the Satpol PP apparatus by forming an effective team specifically for controlling street vendors, Facilitating the relocation of PKL and providing guidance to PKL, Improving the Infrastructure and Technology of Satpol PP Sintang District.
