Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). The strategy of the Department of Livestock and Animal Health in Empowering Indigenous Papuan Farmers in Klamono District, Sorong Regency, West Papua Province, is one of the factors that can increase the livestock population through community empowerment activities for indigenous Papuan breeders (OAP) by using special autonomy funding sources to complete knowledge for cattle farmers.Purpose : To find out and analyze the strategy of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health in empowering indigenous Papuan breeders in the Klamono District, Sorong Regency, West Papua Province. Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation nd documentation Result The strategy of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health In empowering Papuan native breeders has been running according to the Office's Strategic programs. The location of the farm is in a strategic location, which is on the connecting road between the Regency lines. One of the livestock cultivation development programs with training and education activities that are carried out every year. However, in reality what is happening in the field is that there is still a shortage of technical personnel for livestock breeders and the lack of awareness of the indigenous Papuan breeder community in developing and improving livestock cultivation in the Klamono District.Conclusion: In the Strategy of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health, in empowering Indigenous Papuan Breeders, it has been running according to the Office's Strategic programs, one of which is the livestock cultivation development program with training and education activities that are carried out every year. the government, namely the need for training to support livestock cultivation activities in the Klamono District so that the indigenous Papuan farming community can understand livestock cultivation well.
