Abstract
ABSTRACT (in english) Problem Statement/Background (GAP): Smartphone are the most widely owned and utilized hardware among the public, leading to the extensive use of mobile applications. System development is the process of creating a system by designing, building, testing, and maintaining the information system. One of the most used methods in system development is the waterfall method (Pressman, 2020). Purpose: This research involves the design of a mobile-based employment information system for The Department of Manpower in Medan City, known as SIDUTA. The design process in this study reaches only the modelling phase, having completed the precending communication and planning phases. Method: The methodology applied in this study is a qualitative (Sugiyono, 2015) and descriptive (Sudaryono, 2018) approach using the waterfall system development theory (Pressman, 2020). The analytical technique employed utilizes the theory proposed by (Miles and Huberman (1994). Result: The study produces a user interface design for the mobile version of SIDUTA. Conclusion: SIDUTA is a web-based employment information system for Medan City, offering services such as job search, internship, and training, as well as additional services like AK1 card issuance and labor dispute resolution. SIDUTA aims to assist users in finding career opportunities and professional advancement, focusing on quality, accessibility, security, and up-to-date information. Although this information system is well-developed, continuous improvement is necessary to meet technological advancements. Fusther efforts to enhance the system include designing the user interface for the mobile version of SIDUTA. Keywords: Employment, System Design, Waterfall, Mobile Application
