Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): Community Empowerment in Waste Management through the Waste Bank Program in Aceh Tamiang District is the topic of this research. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to collect data, analyze, and produce findings that can provide an overview of community empowerment in waste management through the waste bank program, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and discuss efforts made to overcome these obstacles. Method: This research uses a qualitative research design that includes descriptive techniques. Three data collection methods were used, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data were then analyzed starting from data reduction, followed by data presentation and conclusion drawing. This research was conducted in Aceh Tamiang District. Results/Findings: According to the research findings, Aceh Tamiang District has established a waste bank to empower the local community in waste management. Nevertheless, there are still challenges in the implementation of this program. Therefore, the researcher suggests further improving community education, maintaining positive relationships with vendors, and overseeing waste management infrastructure and facilities. Conclusion: By looking at the conditions in the field, the researcher suggests that the Government of the Environmental Service in Aceh Tamiang District, to increase its contribution to community empowerment in waste management through the Waste Bank programme by increasing the number of waste banks and more complete infrastructure. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Waste Bank, Waste Management ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dalam Pengelolaan Sampah melalui Program Bank Sampah di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang merupakan topik dari penelitian ini. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengumpulkan data, menganalisis, dan menghasilkan temuan yang dapat memberikan gambaran umum mengenai pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui program bank sampah, mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat, serta mendiskusikan upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk melewati hambatan tersebut. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan design penelitian kualitatif yang mencakup teknik deskriptif. Tiga metode pengumpulan data digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis mulai dari reduksi data, diikuti dengan penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Hasil/Temuan: Menurut temuan penelitian, Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang telah membentuk bank sampah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat setempat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Meskipun demikian, masih ada tantangan dalam implementasi program ini. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memberi saran untuk lebih meningkatkan edukasi masyarakat, menjaga hubungan yang positif dengan vendor, dan mengawasi infrastruktur dan fasilitas pengelolaan sampah. Kesimpulan: Dengan melihat kondisi dilapangan, peneliti menyarankan kepada Pemerintah Dinas Lingkungan Hidup di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang, untuk meningkatkan kontribusi dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah melalui program Bank Sampah dengan memperbanyak jumlah Bank Sampah induk dan sarana prasarana yang lebih lengkap lagi.
