Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe participatory governance in the development process in Sunggal Kanan Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method to provide a clear picture of the problems studied in Sunggal Kanan Village and conduct interviews with several informants. The results of research on participatory governance in the process of formulating development policies in Sunggal Kanan Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency are known by using 3 considerations, namely collecting information on development problems, channeling community aspirations, and diversification of policy making. The collection of information on development issues is seen from the presence and activity of the community at the implementation of village deliberations in submitting suggestions and criticisms of development. The channeling of community aspirations is seen from the transparency carried out by the village government as a channel for community aspirations in improving development. Meanwhile, the diversity of policy making is seen from the differences in the decisions taken by the village government for each region in Sunggal Kanan Village according to the needs of the region.
