Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The author focuses on the problem of the lack of interesting information/content submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs Public Relations on social media. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of social media as a means of disseminating information during the Covid-19 pandemic by the Public Relations of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Method This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. Result: The findings obtained by the authors in this study are management starting from finding problem data in the field, determining data processing strategies, the publication process by paying attention to communication factors, and also the content evaluation process. This has been done well and there are also obstacles that need to be fixed in order to have a positive impact on the community on social media. Conclusion: The management of social media at the ministry's public relations has been going quite well but there are still some obstacles, especially in the human resources section, this is evidenced by the fact that there is still a lot of workload that is still being done by one person even though there is already a division of tasks. This is influenced by the lack of quality and quantity of public relations employees themselves in carrying out their work. It is recommended for the Ministry of Home Affairs Public Relations to be able to get employees with quality in their fields and be able to work professionally so that the Ministry of Home Affairs social media can be more attractive and also the Ministry of Home Affairs Public Relations is expected to continue to follow the times in the implementation of content creation so that it can attract public attention in a more positive direction.
