Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). Human resources play an important role in the process of achieving organizational goals. So that a development is needed through a consideration in improving the quality of human resources which has an impact on improving employee performance in an organization, especially employee work discipline which is the focus of this research.Purpose : to find out employee work discipline, inhibiting and supporting factors as well as efforts to improve employee work discipline at the Mimika Regency Population and Civil Registration Office. Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: Improvement of Employee Work Discipline at the Mimika Regency Population and Civil Registration Service has been going well based on the results of direct observations in the field and confirmed by interviews conducted by the author with officials related to employee work discipline at the Mimika Regency Population and Civil Registration Service. However, there are several problems, such as lack of responsibility and awareness as well as initiatives that still need to be developed between fields.. Conclusion: Improvement of Employee Work Discipline at the Mimika Regency Population and Civil Registration Service has been going well, but there are still some problems, namely the lack of responsibility and awareness as well as initiatives that still need to be built and the lack of coordination between fields. Efforts made by the Department of Population and Civil Registration in dealing with these obstacles are by approaching employees in providing an understanding of discipline at work, monitoring employee performance in carrying out duties and responsibilities according to their respective fields and conducting evaluations related to performance as well as providing rewards and punishments. in accordance with applicable rules for the implementation of work discipline.
