Abstract
Problem/Background (GAP): The population problem is a serious problem facing the world, in particular, developing countries. The very high growth rate is a population problem that worries the country and this greatly affects aspects of life, including the City of Banda Aceh, one of which is. Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the extent to which the Kampung KB Program has an effect on controlling the rate of population growth in Banda Aceh City. The Family Planning Village is expected to assist the Banda Aceh City Government in controlling the rate of population growth, prospering the community and increasing active family planning participants in Banda Aceh City. Method: This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with an inductive approach in explaining the state of the research object in accordance with the facts in the field. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by means of interviews, observations, and documentation. The author obtained data through interviews with informants when carrying out research activities at the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning in Banda Aceh City and the location of the KB Village in the Meuraxa District. While the data analysis technique consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Results: The research results of the Kampung KB Program have been effective in controlling the rate of population growth in Banda Aceh City, it has been proven to have been running and giving results such as increasing numbers of fertile age couples who use contraception, there are still obstacles, namely the lack of active participation from the community in supporting the program. Kampung KB and the community still do not understand the importance of planning a wedding, regulating the number of births, and so on. This causes the number of residents in Banda Aceh City to continue to increase in 2019 even though the percentage is decreasing. Conclusion: in general the Kampung KB program has been effective in controlling the rate of population growth in Makassar City, it has run quite well but is still not optimal, so it is hoped that this research can be useful for the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning, Banda Aceh City.
