Abstract
The purpose of this Thesis is to determine and analyze the Role of Region Disaster Management Agency in South Barito Regency, The Province of Central Borneo, the factors that have become obstacles for the Region Disaster Management Agency in disaster anticipation, and the efforts made in anticipating forest and land fires in South Barito Regency. The reseach method used is a qualitative method with an inductive approach, while the data sources studied were obtained from primary data sources and secondary data sources. The technique of collecting data by researchers through observation, interviews and documentation. While the research instrument is the researcher himself. In analzing the data, the authors used the informant determination as the beginning of the research process, followed by any analysis of the interview. Based on the results of data processing, data analysis, and interviews, it is concluded that so far the role of the Region Disaster Management Agency in anticipating forest and land fires has been running well in carrying out its duties ind accordance with existing regulations. However, it has not been maximally successful due to several problems, such as: limitations of facilities and infrastructure and disaster locations that are difficult or even inaccessible causing less than optimal handling of forest and land fires in South Barito Regency, Province of Central Borneo. Reffering to the problems and the results of data analysis, it is recommended that the Region Disaster Management Agency of South Barito Regency to make an evaluation and review the implementation of its role in Region Disaster Management Agency to anticipating disaster of forest and land fires.
