Abstract
Tourism is one of the leading sectors in Indonesia. Tourism village development is a government step in increasing regional tourism potential, in this case especially the Purworejo Regency area which has a diversity of tourist village objects that can be developed to increase people's income. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the role of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office in the development of tourist villages, especially the Pandanrejo Tourism Village, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as the efforts made by the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office in overcoming the inhibiting factors in the development of tourist villages. The research method used by the author in the preparation of this thesis is qualitative with an inductive approach and data collection techniques using documentation, interviews and observations. The analytical technique used in the preparation of this thesis is triangulation data analysis. Based on the results of the study, the implementation of the development policy of the Pandanrejo Tourism Village was considered good but not optimal. There are several obstacles such as the level of technological understanding, investor involvement and the Covid 19 pandemic, in addition to the commitment from the government, the Borobudur Authority Agency (BOB) and the National Strategic Project of the Borobudur Authority Agency as a supporter of development. So that suggestions are addressed to the Youth, Sports and Tourism Office of Purworejo Regency in order to improve the development of the Pandanrejo Tourism Village to be more effective, such as maximizing socialization activities and infrastructure development and exposing existing tourism in Pandanrejo Village in order to attract investors or third parties in the development of tourist villages.
