Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): The author focuses on the problem of empowering catfish farming farmers in Rumbai Barat District by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Pekanbaru City. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out how to empower catfish farming farmers in Rumbai Barat District by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Pekanbaru City, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in empowering catfish farming communities in Rumbai Barat District by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Pekanbaru City. , as well as the efforts made by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Pekanbaru City in empowering the community of catfish farming farmers in the District of West Rumbai. Methods: This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. Techniques Data collection is done by observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation, and data verification by making conclusions. Results/Findings: The findings obtained by the researcher are that the empowerment of catfish farming farmers in the District of Rumbai Barat has been going quite well, but in practice there are still some obstacles. Conclusion: Empowerment of catfish farming farmers in Rumbai Barat District by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Pekanbaru City has been going quite well but in practice there are still several inhibiting factors, namely the price of fish feed which continues to rise, limited facilities and infrastructure, and the lack of extension workers.
