Abstract
ABSTRACT The author in carrying out this research activity took the title "Development of Kendari Botanical Gardens Tourism Object by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province". The background of the author taking the title is to analyze and describe the development of the Kendari Botanical Garden tourism object carried out by the Kendari City Culture and Tourism Office and to find out the benefits of developing the Kendari Botanical Garden tourism object for the people in the tourist area. In this internship the author uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach and uses the theory of tourism development according to Spillane in Sari (2011:27), the source of data used by the author in this study uses data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation, while analytical techniques The data used is based on data analysis by Miles and Huberman, namely by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the development of the Kendari Botanical Gardens tourism object could be categorized as going well, although there are still some shortcomings in it such as the lack of provision of souvenir shops, the absence of public transportation services, poorly maintained facilities and infrastructure as well as less than optimal management. So that more attention is still needed and further development of the Kendari Botanical Gardens tourism potential from the Government and the Kendari City Culture and Tourism Office, especially in providing souvenir shops, providing public transportation services to tourist attractions, improving facilities and infrastructure and optimizing the management of tourism objects.
