Abstract
The increasing needs of the community, especially in public services and the spreadof Covid-19 which has an impact on people's life cycles, make a decrease in performance quality. Conditions like this are the concern of researchers to conduct research related to the performance of the Samarinda City Population and Civil Registration Office in public services during the. The purpose of this study is to find out the Performance of the Samarinda City Population and CivilRegistration Office in public services during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with an inductive approach. Data collection techniques by means of interviews, observations, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The theory used is the Performance theory put forward by Agus Dwiyanto (2021: 50) in measuring performance quality. The results of the study show than the performance of the Samarinda City Population and Civil Registration Office in public services during the Covid-19 pandemic has not been optimal. This can be seen from the level of service quality and responsibilities are still not good. There is still a low level of discipline and concern for employees in the community and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Efforts to improve the quality of performance of the Samarinda City Population and Civil Registration Office in public services during the Covid-19 pandemic are able to conduct discipline coaching and encourage employees to continue formal and non-formal education and improve services in the field of information technology.
