Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): This thesis is entitled "Political Participation of Persons with Disabilities in the Election of Mayor of Banjarmasin in 2020 in Central Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan Province". Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify and describe political participation, the obstacles experienced, and the KPU's efforts in overcoming the obstacles experienced by persons with disabilities in the 2020 Mayoral Election in Central Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan Province. This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Method: Data collection methods used in this thesis by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the participation of persons with disabilities in the 2020 Banjarmasin Mayoral Election in Central Banjarmasin Sub-district was the lowest number of participants out of 5 sub-districts in Banjarmasin City. Result: The Banjarmasin KPU has tried to do several things, namely by providing facilities that are easily accessible to people with disabilities and conducting active socialization regarding the series of events for the Mayor election in Banjarmasin. Conclusion/sugegestion: Suggestions that can be given from the results of this study are that the organizers of the Mayor's election activities must understand more about the rights of citizens with disabilities and add programs, materials, and innovate in organizing outreach to the community. Keywords: Disability, KPU, Society, Descriptive, Qualitative ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang: Skripsi ini berjudul “Partisipasi Politik Penyandang Disabilitas dalam Pemilihan Walikota Banjarmasin Tahun 2020 di Kecamatan Banjarmasin Tengah Kota Banjarmasin Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan” Tujuan : tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan partisipasi politik, hambatan yang dialami, serta upaya KPU dalam mengatasi hambatan yang dialami penyandang disabilitas pada Pemilihan Walikota tahun 2020 di Kecamatan Banjarmasin Tengah Kota Banjarmasin Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode: Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa Partisipasi penyandang disabilitas dalam Pemilihan Walikota Banjarmasin 2020 di Kecamatan Banjarmasin Tengah menjadi jumlah partisipan terendah dari 5 Kecamatan yang ada di Kota Banjarmasin dengan hambatan-hambatan yang mempengaruhi adalah faktor politik ekonomi, sosialisasi, serta sarana dan prasarana. Hasil Temuan: KPU kota Banjarmasin telah berupaya melakukan beberapa hal yaitu dengan cara menyediakan fasilitas yang gampang diakses oleh para warga penyandang disabilitas dan melakukan sosialisasi aktif perihal rangkaian acara 1 kegiatan pemilihan Walikota di Banjarmasin. Kesimpulan dan Saran: Saran yang dapat diberikan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah para penyelenggara kegiatan pemilihan Walikota harus lebih paham perihal hak-hak para warga penyandang disabilitas dan menambah program- program, bahan materi, serta berinovasi dalam menyelenggarakan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat.
