Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research). The Melah Nabung Sarok Waste Bank Program which is a program directly assisted by the Bengkulu City Environmental Service as an effort to reduce waste based on local wisdom which means that the government and the community support each other in environmental management. Objective: to find out how to empower the community through the waste bank program, to know the supporting and inhibiting factors as well as efforts to overcome obstacles in community empowerment through the waste bank program Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: Community empowerment through the waste bank program is running well from the many levels of community participation in waste management and the use of waste that has economic value. However, this program is still hampered due to the busyness of the community that cannot be controlled and the allocation of funds is still lacking for waste management. Conclusion: The implementation of community empowerment through the Melah Nabung Sarok Waste Bank Program which was directly fostered by the Bengkulu City Environmental Service has been carried out well. Community development is carried out through socialization, workshops and education related to the implementation of waste management at the Melah Nabung Sarok Waste Bank. However, there are still many people who are not members of the waste bank, but follow and even participate in the program. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Program, Waste Bank Melah Nabung Sarok
