Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): (Contains the background behind the research) The Covid-19 that is hitting the world today requires special attention in handling, one of which is the implementation of health protocols by the Covid-19 task force. Through the Decree of the Mayor of Dumai Number 305/BPBD/2020 concerning the Establishment of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the City of Dumai, this is a serious step for the government in dealing with the COVID-19 virus. Objective: to find out the role of the Covid-19 Task Force in handling covid-19 in Dumai City, Riau Province.Methode: This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with an inductive approach, where the authors obtain data by means of interviews, observation and documentation Result: The role of the Task Force in handling COVID-19 has been going well, due to a decrease in the number of violators of health protocols which has also resulted in a decrease in Covid-19 cases. However, there is a need for improvement, especially comprehensive socialization to the community with good communication and other approaches.Conclusion: The role of the Task Force in handling COVID-19 has been going well, due to a decrease in the number of violators of health protocols which also resulted in a decrease in Covid-19 cases. health protocols and sanctions so it is hoped that these rules will be implemented soon. The efforts carried out by the COVID-19 task force are to invite the public to be more concerned about health protocols and immediately make rules relating to the handling of COVID-19.
