Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The Department of Population and Civil Registration of Banyuwangi Regency has a role in carrying out the duties of population administration services by recording all population events. One of them is serving every couple who reports an interfaith marriage based on implementing Article 35 A of the Population Administration Law, namely the existence of a court order. The aim is to provide legal certainty regarding overpopulation events experienced by the presence of population documents. Purpose: The purpose of this research was to determine and describe the role of the Banyuwangi Regency Population and Civil Registration Office in realizing the population administration goals for the registration of interfaith marriages and the inhibiting factors for its implementation, and the efforts made to address these inhibiting factors. Method: The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with an inductive approach. Who carried out data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and interviews to obtain data from several informants. Result: The results of this study are that the implementation of the role of the Banyuwangi Regency Population and Civil Registration Service has been strived to be carried out properly, namely by serving every couple who reports interfaith marriages. However, in its implementation, several obstacles come from the lack of public awareness of the importance of reporting. And the existence of obstacles from the Banyuwangi Regency Population and Civil Registration Office with not maximal efforts made in carrying out its service role. Conclusion: The Department of Population and Civil Registration continues to strive to improve services equally to all residents of Banyuwangi Regency in interfaith marriages with the aim of ensuring the realization of population administration goals, although in the process there are still several obstacles that make its implementation not optimal as a whole.
