Abstract
Problem Statement/Background(GAP): The outbreak of Covid-19 is very harmful to society even causes death. For that, the role of local government through the regent of West Tanjung Jabung to form Covid-19 task force is needed which aims to accelerate the handling of Covid-19 in West Tanjung Jabung Regency. Purpose: This study aims to describe and analyze the role of Covid-19 task force in West Tanjung Jabung Regency. Method: By using the role theory by Soerjono Soekanto. The research design used is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data were collected through interview techniques, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used consists of data reduction, data presentation and finally drawing conclusions. Result: Based on the result of the research, it’s known that the Covid-19 task force in carrying out their duty and function have been going well in preventing Covid-19 transmission, however it’s not optimal in it’s implementation, llike people who lack discipline in implementing healthh protocols. Conclusion: The role of Covid-19 task force in preventing the transmission of Covid-19 in West Tanjung Jabung Regency has been carried out well due to orgnizational structure of the Covid-19 task force that is well structured and implemend in the division of task and fungction in each field.
