Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The author focuses on the problem of the welfare of the community around the tourist village. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out what strategies are implemented by the village government in developing the tourist village of Kampuang Sarugo in the village of Koto Tinggi, what are the obstacles, and how the village government is trying to overcome these obstacles. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a SWOT analysis method. Data collection techniques through interviews (9 informants), documentation, and observation. Results: The findings obtained by the researchers are that the strategies implemented by the village government in the development of Sarugo Village have been good but in practice there are still problems. Conclusion: the strategy implemented by the Koto Tinggi village government is appropriate when viewed from the SWOT analysis method, but in its implementation it is not optimal due to various obstacles such as funds, limited human resources, and also internal conflicts. The village government continues to strive for these obstacles in coordination with the district government to overcome them. Keywords: Strategy, Village Government, Tourist Village
