Abstract

Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The Kebumen PPID application is one of the website-based application innovations launched by the Kebumen Regency Government in 2019. The Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) is the official responsible for storing, documenting, providing, and/or providing information in public agencies. There are several problems thet occur in optimizing the PPID application, including manual information services in public bodies that are not effective and efficient, people are reluctant to fill out Information Application information forms, delay in PPID Assistant OPD in uploading data, incomplete data on the Kebumen PPID Website, news presented on the website is old news, and in 2020 Kebumen Regency will be included in the “Towards Informative” category. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the optimization of the PPID application in improving public information services at the Communication and Information Office of Kebumen Regency and to analyze the factors that influence the optimization of the PPID application in improving public information services at the Communication and Information Office of Kebumen Regency. Method: In this study, researchers used the optimization theory of Hotniar Siringoringo (2005). The method used in this research is qualitative-descriptive research with an inductive approach. Data collection techniques using observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Result: Improvements still need to be made, in which the improvement is due to the inhibiting factors. Inhibiting factors include the lack of public awareness of e-government, socialization has not gone well, and the role of PPID Assistant is less active. The efforts made by the Communication and Information Office of Kebumen Regency are to disseminate public services through social media, accelerate the process of redevelopment the PPID website and conduct technical guidance to PPID Assistant OPD staff. Conclusion: Based on the result of the research that the optimization of the Kebumen PPID application in improving public information services has been running well but not optimally.
