Abstract
The author focuses on the problem of empowering village market traders to improve economic welfare. One of these efforts is through the existence of Village Owned Enterprises. Objectives: This study aims to and analyze the process, inhibiting and supporting factors for empowering village market traders through Village-Owned Enterprises by the Community and Village Empowerment Service in Central Lampung Regency. Methods: The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an inductive approach. Research informants were determined by perposive sampling. Data were collected by using interview, observation and documentation techniques. Results/Findings: The village market in Central Lampung Regency should be able to develop well if it is supported by BUMKAM, but in practice BUMKan has not been able to run well. Conclusion: the results of the analysis concluded that the empowerment process was carried out with the stage of awareness, training on trade arrangement, financial management, market cleanliness, the mentoring process was carried out to minimize errors, carry out evaluations, the results of empowerment were in the form of economic changes and the formation of market cooperatives. The inhibiting factor for empowerment is the lack of human resources and the lack of budget, and the supporting factor is the social condition of the community. BUMK for market traders is very potential, so it must be developed for other villages in Central Lampung. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Village Owned Enterprises and Village Markets
