Abstract
The lack of support for women becomes a major obstacle to the fulfillment of 30% representation of women in local legislative. The lack of support influence the work capability of women in political institutions, especially in efforts to recruit women. Especially, the lack of coordination among groups that works in gender affairs influence the level of readiness of women to be able to increase the representation of women in the legislative. Related on the statement, the writer interested to do research with the title Women’s Representation in Local Legislative Institution period 2019-2024 in Lampung Province. Focus on how the representation of women in the local legislative institution period 2019-2024 in Lampung Province, what the inhibiting factors of 30% quota of women representation in the local legislative, and efforts to increase women’s representation in local legislative in Lampung Province. This research is using descriptive qualitative method with inductive approach. Data collected through observation, documentation, and interviews. And data analysis method is using qualitative method with data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. The results showed that the representation of women in the local legislative in Lampung Province has optimally brought the aspirations of women. This is related to the representation of women in local legislative institutions in Lampung Province, which is only 16 people or 20% of the members of parliament. So that it has not met the expectations of 30% women's representation. Although the 30% quota has not been reached, data on the performance of the legislator has fulfilled the proportion of the quota. This is evidenced by the existence of Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2020 concerning the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children in Lampung Province.
