Abstract
Problem/Background: This research is based on the shifting dynamics of political campaigns in the digital era, where social media has become an effective tool for reaching voters broadly, quickly, and interactively. Purpose: TThe purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the political campaign strategies implemented by the campaign team of the candidate pair Robby Dondokambey and Vanda Sarundajang in winning the 2024 Minahasa Regency Election, particularly through social media platforms. Methods: This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this study consist of 13 (thirteen) individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation of the political communication strategies employed by the Robby–Vanda campaign team, based on Middleton’s theory on Cangara, H. (2017) which comprises four key elements: planning, objectives, message, and media. Results/Findings: The political campaign strategy was realized through the selection of competent communicators, accurate segmentation of target voters, the formulation of persuasive and educational campaign messages, and the utilization of social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to strengthen the candidate pair’s image. This study contributes theoretically to the development of political communication and digital campaign studies, and also provides practical guidelines for campaign teams and political parties in managing social media-based campaign strategies. Conclusion: The effectiveness of this strategy is evidenced by the candidate pair’s success in securing 49.84% of the votes, which led to Robby-Vanda’s victory in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election in Minahasa Regency.
