Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The aothor focus on the government’s monitor and maintaining social stability within the community. A heightened awareness of potential conflicts must be a particular focus for the government to ensure smooth governance, especially in supporting the successful implementation of the 2024 regional elections (Pilkada) in Pontianak. Kesbangpol (Agency for National Unity and Politics) is a government body responsible for assisting local governments in managing national unity and political affairs. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 46 of 2019 on Early Vigilance in Regions, FKDM (Forum for Early Detection of Community Conflict) operates under Kesbangpol to detect and prevent potential conflicts within society. Purpose: This study aims to observe and analyze the participation of FKDM members in conducting political outreach as a form of early vigilance ahead of the 2024 Pilkada. Method: A descriptive qualitative method was used in this research. Result: The results indicate that FKDM members have implemented various political outreach programs to reduce the potential for conflict during the election process in Pontianak. The Kesbangpol Agency of Pontianak City provides facilities, infrastructure, and program support in the form of outreach and dialogue to help prevent conflict. Conclusion: The successful execution of the Pilkada is crucial to achieving democratic goals. The Kesbangpol Agency cannot operate alone; synergy with all elements of society and other regional government units in Pontianak is necessary for preventive efforts to minimize potential conflict. However, challenges remain, particularly in the area of technology monitoring, which hinders the supervision of hoax dissemination within the community.
