Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem statement/background (GAP): The marketing of pineapples in Prabumulih City is still limited to fresh or unprocessed fruit forms. Pineapple farmers in Prabumulih City still face obstacles in marketing their products, so it is necessary to pursue a more effective marketing strategy to increase the added value of pineapple products. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the role of local governments in improving Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) processed pineapple in Prabumulih City, South Sumatra Province. With the significant growth of MSMEs in Indonesia, the existence of pineapples as a strategic commodity that contributes greatly to the local economy is the main focus of this study. Method: Using a qualitative approach, this study explores various supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of processed pineapple MSMEs, as well as the efforts made by the government to support the growth of this sector. Results: Through the analysis of the data obtained, it was found that despite the increase in land area and the number of farmers, the number of pineapple processing MSMEs did not experience significant changes. Conclusion: More effective intervention from local governments is needed to increase the capacity and sustainability of pineapple processed MSMEs. This research provides recommendations for the government in creating more inclusive policies and programs in order to encourage the growth of MSMEs, as well as improve the welfare of the community in Prabumulih City. The results of the research are expected to be a reference for further research and local economic development policies. Keywords: role of government, MSMEs, processed pineapple, economic development, Prabumulih City ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Pemasaran buah nanas di Kota Prabumulih masih terbatas pada bentuk buah segar atau belum diolah. Petani nanas di Kota Prabumulih masih menghadapi kendala dalam memasarkan produk mereka, sehingga perlu diupayakan strategi pemasaran yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk nanas. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peranan pemerintah daerah dalam meningkatkan Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) olahan nanas di Kota Prabumulih, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Dengan pertumbuhan UMKM yang signifikan di Indonesia, keberadaan nanas sebagai komoditas strategis yang memberi kontribusi besar bagi perekonomian lokal menjadi fokus utama dalam penelitian ini. Metode: Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi berbagai faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pengembangan UMKM olahan nanas, serta upaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk mendukung pertumbuhan sektor ini. Hasil/Temuan: Melalui analisis data yang diperoleh, ditemukan bahwa meskipun terdapat peningkatan luas lahan dan jumlah petani, jumlah UMKM pengolahan nanas tidak mengalami perubahan signifikan. Kesimpulan: Diperlukan intervensi yang lebih efektif dari pemerintah daerah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dan keberlanjutan UMKM olahan nanas. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk pemerintah dalam menciptakan kebijakan dan program yang lebih inklusif dalam rangka mendorong pertumbuhan UMKM, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kota Prabumulih.
