Abstract
Problem/Background (GAP): The problem behind this research is the high risk index of earthquake disasters in Gianyar Regency, which requires maximum preparedness in the face of potential disasters. The threat of megathrust earthquakes is a serious issue that has the potential to cause major impacts in Gianyar Regency. However, on the other hand, the regional resilience index of Gianyar Regency is still relatively low, making it the region with the weakest resilience in the face of disasters in Bali Province. Disaster management efforts have not been fully optimized, especially in efforts that involve inter-sectoral. Purpose: To determine the collaboration of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) with the mass media and the community in facing the threat of a megathrust disaster in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. Methods: This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques consisted of interviews, observation, and documentation. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews with 8 informants. Results/Findings: The results showed that in the implementation of BPBD collaboration with mass media and the community, there were still several obstacles, namely limited resources and differences in interests between parties. One of the efforts made in overcoming these obstacles is by increasing budget allocations and human resource capacity and aligning goals through communication forums. Conclusion: Collaboration of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) with the Mass Media and the Community in Facing the Threat of Megathrust Disaster in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province has gone quite well because there are several dimensions that have not fully run well but several dimensions have gone well.
