Abstract
ABSTRACT Problem/Background (GAP): The problems that occur in Sidoarjo Regency are related to community political participation which needs to be increased again and there are several problems that continue to occur from year to year. Purpose: This research aims to obtain a description of how community political participation in general elections in Sidoarjo Regency can be improved, then find out what are the shortcomings and efforts of the government in increasing community political participation in general elections in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. Method: This research uses descriptive qualitative research using the participation theory from Herbert Mclosky in Budiardjo. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation methods. Results/Findings: The results of this research are to describe the implementation of community political participation in the 2024 general election in Sidoarjo Regency, which has seen a fairly high increase compared to the previous general election. Conclusion: The research conclusions highlight the importance of strengthening community participation and overcoming these obstacles to increase the effectiveness of village fund management and local empowerment at the village level. Keywords: Political participation, General Election, society ABSTRAK Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP): Permasalahan yang terjadi di Kabupaten Sidoarjo terkait partisipasi politik masyarakat yang perlu untuk ditingkatkan kembali dan terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang terus terjadi dari tahun ke tahun. Tujuan: Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi mengenai bagaimana Partisipasi Politik Masyarakat dalam Pemilihan umum di Kabupaten Sidoarjo dapat ditingkatkan,kemudian mengetahui apa yang menjadi suatu kekurangan dan upaya dari pemerintah dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik masyarakat dalam Pemilihan umum di Kabupaten Sidoarjo Provinsi Jawa Timur. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan Deskriptif Kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori partisipasi dari Herbert Mclosky dalam Budiardjo. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil/Temuan: Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan tentang pelaksanaan partisipasi politik masyarakat dalam pemilihan umum tahun 2024 di Kabupaten Sidoarjo yang sudah terjadi peningkatan yang cukup tinggi daripada pemilihan umum sebelumnya. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan penelitian menyoroti pentingnya memperkuat partisipasi masyarakat dan mengatasi hambatan�hambatan tersebut untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan dana desa dan pemberdayaan lokal di tingkat desa.
