Abstract
Problem/Background (GAP) : The formulation of the research problem includes questions about the influence and how much influence the Regional Head's political communication has on publik trust in the region. Purpose : This research aims to investigate the influence of political communication carried out by Regional Heads on publik trust in Sintang Regency. Methods : The research method used is a correlational method with a quantitative approach, which utilizes statistical analysis to manage the data obtained. The research sample was determined based on the Permanent Voter List (DPT) in the 2020 Sintang Regent and Deputy Regent Election, with the assumption that the DPT reflects the voter base that is directly involved in the democratic process. Results : The research results show that there is a significant influence between the political communication of Regional Heads and the level of publik trust in Sintang Regency. This is reinforced by the results of a simple linear regression test which shows the calculated t value is much greater than the t tabel value, as well as the results of the Spearman Rank correlation hypothesis test which shows a positive and very strong relationship between political communication and publik trust. According to Standardized Coefficients Beta, it can be seen that the indicator Personal Branding has the biggest influence on public trust. Conclusion : The implications of this research emphasize the importance of effective political communication from Regional Heads in strengthening publik trust, which in turn can increase government legitimacy and community participation at the local level. Keywords: Political Communication, Regional Head, Publik Trust Permasalahan/Latar Belakang (GAP) : Rumusan masalah penelitian mencakup pertanyaan tentang adanya pengaruh dan seberapa besar pengaruh komunikasi politik Kepala Daerah terhadap kepercayaan publik di wilayah tersebut. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh komunikasi politik yang dilakukan oleh Kepala Daerah terhadap kepercayaan publik di Kabupaten Sintang. Metode : Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, yang memanfaatkan analisis statistik untuk mengelola data yang diperoleh. Sampel penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan Daftar Pemilih Tetap (DPT) pada Pemilihan Bupati dan Wakil Bupati Sintang tahun 2020, dengan asumsi bahwa DPT mencerminkan basis pemilih yang secara langsung terlibat dalam proses demokratis. Hasil/Temuan : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara komunikasi politik Kepala Daerah dan tingkat kepercayaan publik di Kabupaten Sintang. Hal ini diperkuat oleh hasil uji regresi linear sederhana yang menunjukkan nilai t hitung yang jauh lebih besar dari nilai t tabel, serta hasil uji hipotesis korelasi Rank Spearman yang menunjukkan hubungan positif dan sangat kuat antara komunikasi politik dan kepercayaan publik. Dari hasil uji standar koefisien beta didapatkan indikator personal branding yang paling tinggi pengaruhnya terhadap variabel Kepercayaan Publik. Kesimpulan : Implikasi dari penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya komunikasi politik yang efektif dari Kepala Daerah dalam memperkuat kepercayaan publik, yang pada gilirannya dapat meningkatkan legitimasi pemerintahan dan partisipasi masyarakat di Tingkat lokal.
