Abstract
Problem Statement/Background (GAP): The waste phenomenon in Medan Polonia District continues to increase along with the increase in population. The emergence of Mayor Regulation Number 18 of 2021 concerning Delegation of Partial Waste Management Authority is a form of the Medan City government's efforts to show its seriousness in waste management. The problem of this research is how to manage some of the mayor's affairs with the sub-district head for waste in Medan Polonia sub-district, Medan City, North Sumatra Province, as well as the inhibiting factors in managing some of the mayor's affairs with the sub-district head for waste in Medan Polonia sub-district, Medan city, North Sumatra province. Purpose: The aim of this research is to find out and analyze how some of the mayor's affairs are managed by the sub-district head for waste in Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province and to describe the inhibiting factors. Method: This research method is qualitative, with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation and the results are analyzed using descriptive qualitative. Result: The results of the research show that: (1) The management of some of the mayor's affairs to the sub- district head for waste in Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province has been carried out quite well, however, there is still a need to increase public awareness which must be completed so that the management of some of the mayor's affairs to the sub-district head for solid waste in Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province, is running as expected and achieving the goals to be achieved. Conclusion: The inhibiting factor in managing some of the mayor's affairs for the sub-district head for waste in Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province is the low level of public awareness of waste disposal.
